Subscribe to PostsObliq Recordings was founded in 1996 by three Electronic Music connoisseurs from Boulder, Colorado USA; Dave Alexander, Nathan Jantz and Jefferson Holland. After sending out 50 demos of the Wired Spaces album (see Releases) and getting great feedback; most labels were only interested in Dance style music; likewise were American distributors. Obliq found themselves in the void between niches! So we decided to do it ourselves!
The label features Multicast, currently consisting of label owners Dave Alexander and Jefferson Holland, which is a cross over of electronic beats, sequencers, and surf/spagetti western/far eastern guitar melodies. Expect counterplay between synthesizer and guitar melodies and lots of effects! Multicast performs in stereo or for special engagements in 6.1 surround sound!
The label also features projects Ted Sturgeon, Freq Modif and Crix Madine. Label co-owner Nathan Jantz is currently recording and touring with Jahnavi Stenflo as The Normal Ones. This project is both dancefloor oriented in Stereo and also 6.1 surround sound.
Obliq Recordings artists have performed at many festivals an have been on record labels and compilations around the world.
